Ellen R. Werther

Ellen R. Werther has more than 30 years of experience in complex commercial and class action litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the Harvard Law School in 1979. Ms. Werther attended the London School of Economics and earned her B.A. from Cornell University, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1976. Ms. Werther is a member of the Bar of the State of New York, and is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Ms. Werther has litigated against, and on behalf of, numerous and varied financial institutions and developed an impressive track record of recoveries where significant economic interests of multiple parties were at stake.

Most recently, Ms. Werther successfully concluded a groundbreaking consumer fraud class action brought under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act against an established banking institution operating in New Jersey. She is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Women's Bar Association of New York.
