Biography

Emily Galvez is an Associate at Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP, where she represents medical professionals and health care organizations in diverse medical malpractice matters.

Prior to joining MCB, Emily was an associate attorney at a mid-size law firm in the New York area, where she managed a high-volume workload of medical malpractice cases from inception through resolution. Specific responsibilities included performing legal research; drafting a broad array of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and dispositive motions; overseeing all aspects of the discovery process, including taking and defending depositions; and representing clients in court proceedings. She also maintained ongoing client communication, and advised senior attorneys on legal issues and litigation strategy.

Earlier in her career, Emily served as a claims associate for large insurance carrier, managing complex medical liability claims, handling investigations, and negotiating settlementsShe also served as an associate attorney at a small firm concentrating on immigration and family law matters. Earlier still, she gained valuable experience in legal research, draftsmanship, and court proceedings through both a legal internship at the One Fair Wage Legal Clinic and a student fellowship at the Vera Institute of Justice. Emily received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in 2018. She earned her J.D. from New York Law School in 2021. She is admitted to practice in New York.
