Biography

ERIC B. KUNKEL is a Senior Counsel of the Firm in its Sherman Oaks, California, office. Mr. Kunkel’s practice is focused on appellate law, including the handling of cutting-edge appeals and writ petitions. His appellate work includes first party claims and complex class-action lawsuits and has involved the substantive issues of negligence, the employer-employee relationship, contract disputes, insurance coverage and agency law, and personal injury. Mr. Kunkel has prepared and argued numerous briefs before the state appellate courts, and has handled appeals brought in the Ninth Circuit. He works closely with the Firm’s trial lawyers to ensure the preservation of appellate rights, and on other substantive, procedural, and strategic decision-making matters. He also provides valuable insight on settlement strategies based on his knowledge of appellate law and his experience as a negotiator. Mr. Kunkel has authored two law review articles, and teaches Torts at the Southern California Institute of Law, where he was named professor of the year in 2011.
