Eric Leckie's journey into the legal profession was shaped
by profound experiences, beginning with the harrowing events of 9/11. As a law
student, he witnessed the aftermath firsthand, volunteering on the front lines
of recovery efforts in lower Manhattan. Motivated by a desire to serve his
country, Eric pursued a career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine
Corps.
Deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Eric
assumed the role of Combined Forces Command Operational Law Chief in Kabul,
Afghanistan, where he navigated complex legal challenges in a volatile
environment. Over his 12 years on active duty, Eric's diverse roles included
serving as a prosecutor in the courtroom, advising commanders as a Staff Judge
Advocate, and imparting legal ingenuity to partner nation forces across Africa
and Asia.
Transitioning from active duty, Eric established Invictus
Law in Virginia Beach while maintaining his commitment as a Marine JAG
reservist. With over 16 years of legal experience, Eric has a comprehensive
skillset in federal criminal defense, military law, and security law. His
casework spans a broad spectrum, from handling DUI and assault cases to
tackling serious sex crimes, murder charges, and intricate federal drug conspiracy
and child pornography cases.
Eric's legal prowess extends to safeguarding the careers of
active duty service members and civilians through adept representation in
contested DOHA hearings and appeals, preserving their secret and top-secret
clearances. His credentials include licensure to appear in both state and
federal courts, along with a distinguished membership in the Security Clearance
Law Association.
