Biography

A founding partner in the firm’s litigation group, Mr. Olsen has substantial experience in a wide range of commercial and business litigation matters, as well as real estate, intellectual property, and large collection cases. He has litigated and tried countless actions in the state and federal courts, before judges and juries. Mr. Olsen also practices before the appellate courts and has appeared in numerous cases before the Nevada Supreme Court and Nevada Court of Appeals, as well as the Ninth Circuit, Second Circuit, and Federal Circuit courts of appeals.

He is a graduate of the University of Southern California (BA 1980) and of the Seattle University School of Law (JD 1986). After law school and judicial clerkship, Mr. Olsen spent 25 years with the regional firm of Gordon Silver, where he headed the litigation department.

In more than 30 years of practice, Mr. Olsen has built a reputation as a formidable advocate who is able to effectively convey his client’s position and achieve successful results in any legal setting.

Mr. Olsen’s clients include McDonald’s Corporation, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd., Acres Manufacturing, Paradise Esplanade Center, Brickstar Capital, Atturo Tire, and Cirque du Soleil.

Representative Cases; Obtained a $1,800,000 jury verdict for a kiosk vendor and a payments processor against Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Successfully represented Don Best Sports in protecting its proprietary and intellectual property rights concerning publication of real-time sports odd. Defended successfully uncovered claims for indemnity and punitive against a local physician arising out of a malpractice action. Secured appointment of a receiver Pacifica Companies over operating hotel property. Represented hotel owner in defending $66 million claim by Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy estate (secured by property valued at $6 million) to a successful settlement under which client owed no money.
