Biography

Eric represents employers in a wide range of employment and traditional labor matters. Eric regularly provides advice and counsel to employers of all sizes concerning all areas of employment and labor law, including human resources decisions, union organizing, employee communications, employment and labor policies, employee investigations, labor grievance and arbitration proceedings, discrimination and retaliation charges, and compliance with state and federal labor laws.

He has successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements for employers in a variety of industries throughout the United States. He has experience helping navigate clients through all forms of difficult contract negotiations and labor environments, including union boycotts, corporate campaigns, media and political pressure, strikes, lockouts, and other economic weapons.

Eric also assists employers in developing employment agreements, personnel policies, separation agreements, trade secret and proprietary information agreements, anti-harassment and other workplace policies, and general employment forms (employment applications and employee handbooks).

Eric is a frequent public speaker and regularly presents internal management training programs on a broad range of labor and employment law subjects.

Prior to joining the firm, Eric worked with the National Football League - Management Council (Labor & Legal Department), advising NFL teams on labor and employment law matters. When not providing counsel to clients, you can usually find Eric spending time on the basketball court or golf course.

Experience

Eric has experience representing employers throughout the United States in matters such as:

•Negotiating collective bargaining agreements;
•Arbitration of union grievances concerning employee discipline/discharges and contract interpretation disputes;
•Defending discrimination and retaliation charges filed with government agencies;
•Labor counsel in NLRB proceedings (representation petitions and unfair labor practice charges);
•Union representation petitions and organizing campaigns;
•Labor and employment matters in asset and stock purchases/sales;
•Management training on labor and employment law risk management and dispute avoidance;
•Wage and hour compliance;
•Negotiating and drafting executive employment agreements and other protective human resources agreements and policies; and
•Strategic planning on layoffs, restructurings, employee terminations, and other sensitive human resources matters.
