Erin K. Morris is the founding partner of Morris Family Law LLC, a Portland-based firm focused exclusively on complex family law matters in Oregon. Selected as an Oregon Super Lawyer in 2026 - following nine consecutive years of recognition as a Rising Star - and admitted to practice before the Oregon Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, Erin brings a depth of litigation experience and credentialed expertise that distinguishes her practice in the Portland legal community.
Morris Family Law is a boutique firm of skilled family law professionals, including three associate attorneys, two full-time paralegals, and a dedicated client relations and office administrator - structured to provide clients with both the personalized attention of a focused practice and the capacity to handle matters of significant complexity and scope.
Erin's practice centers on cases where the financial and legal stakes are substantial. She regularly handles dissolution of marriage proceedings involving closely held businesses, S-corporations, LLC and partnership interests, professional practices, investment portfolios, and complex multi-asset marital estates. Working alongside forensic accountants, business valuators, and financial experts, Erin develops and presents rigorous income and asset analyses for trial. Her command of how Oregon courts evaluate and divide complex marital property gives clients the analytical foundation they need to make sound decisions at every stage of their case.
Erin has deep experience representing clients in spousal and child support matters across the full spectrum of complexity. In high-income and high-asset cases, support disputes often turn on difficult questions of income characterization, particularly where a spouse owns a business, holds partnership or LLC interests, or derives income from non-wage sources. Erin is skilled at navigating these disputes, marshaling financial evidence, and advocating effectively for support determinations that accurately reflect the economic realities of her clients' circumstances. She represents both those seeking support and those opposing unreasonable claims, and brings the same analytical rigor and courtroom preparation to both positions.
In custody and parenting time matters, Erin has represented clients in highly contested disputes involving parenting evaluations, guardian ad litem proceedings, relocation challenges, and the development of detailed parenting plans suited to the realities of demanding professional lives and complex family circumstances. She approaches these cases with strategic precision and a sustained focus on long-term outcomes for children and families.
Erin is an active voice in Oregon's family law community. She has presented on domestic relations practice and complex custody and parenting time matters for the Oregon State Bar, the Multnomah County Bar Association, and the Oregon State Family Law Advisory Committee. She is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the Washington State Bar, and the bar associations of Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington Counties.
Before founding her own practice in 2020, Erin spent eight years at some of Portland's most respected family law firms, developing the trial skills and substantive depth that define her practice today. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Political Science from the University of San Francisco.
