Fred A. Schwartz

Fred A. Schwartz is one of the firm’s most seasoned trial lawyers, focusing on federal white-collar criminal defense and complex commercial disputes. He has tried well over 250 jury trials to verdict, including a 14-month federal RICO trial in the Southern District of Florida. His trial experience spans matters involving securities and tax fraud, Medicare fraud and anti-kickback allegations, bank fraud, and money laundering, and he has appeared against U.S. Attorney’s Offices in more than 25 federal districts, as well as the IRS and SEC. He also handles high-stakes arbitrations in the U.S. and abroad, including proceedings in New York, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Mr. Schwartz currently serves as outside general counsel to Visionary Vehicles LLC and V Cars LLC in a $1.2 billion arbitration before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center involving Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., and he has worked on related litigation in Israel. Before private practice, he served in the Kings County and Queens County District Attorney’s Offices and later joined the federal Organized Crime Strike Force in Florida, rising to Deputy and Acting Attorney in Charge. He earned his B.B.A. from Baruch (CCNY) and his J.D. from NYU School of Law, is admitted in Florida and New York, and has taught criminal law as an adjunct professor.
