Biography

Mr. Kent concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial real estate and secured/real estate lending. He represents corporations and individuals with the purchase and sale of real estate. He also represents lenders and borrowers in connection with financing the purchase and construction of improvements on real estate. His practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, construction and construction lien law, mortgage/lien foreclosures, residential real estate matters, title insurance and the clearing of title defects. Mr. Kent supports other areas of the firm’s commercial practice including commercial litigation and estate and probate matters.

Mr. Kent is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is Board Certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education. He has been selected for inclusion for the Florida Super Lawyers® list in 2007 and from 2011-2017. Mr. Kent was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for his work in Banking and Finance Law; Real Estate Law. Best Lawyers has recognized Mr. Kent for five consecutive years. In 2017, he was asked to serve on the Board of the Jacksonville Historical Society.

Mr. Kent has been in private practice in Jacksonville since graduating law school. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Kent is admitted to practice in all Florida courts and the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
