Biography

Gabrielle L. Apfel is an associate with HPM&B. She represents hospitals, physicians, municipalities and other healthcare providers in litigating complex claims in both New York state courts and federal courts, in the areas of medical liability, civil rights, and general negligence.

Gabrielle is involved in all stages of pre-trial litigation, including fact investigation, case development, legal research, motion practice, and suit evaluation.

Before entering private practice, Gabrielle served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. As a criminal prosecutor, she handled the investigation and prosecution of a large caseload from arrest to disposition via plea or trial. Gabrielle tried 5 cases to verdict during her time at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office and in her last year of service, indicted over 100 felony cases.

During her education at Fordham Law School, Gabrielle competed in Georgetown's National White Collar Crime Mock Trial, the only interscholastic mock trial competition that focuses on white collar cases, where she was a Finalist.
