Biography

Gary J. Barton, a seasoned criminal defense attorney, proudly calls San Antonio his lifelong home. With a background as a former Bexar County Felony Assistant District Attorney, Gary brings a wealth of experience from both sides of the criminal justice system to each case he handles. His legal expertise spans the entire spectrum of criminal charges, ranging from the most severe Capital Murders to even minor Possession of Marijuana cases.

Gary boasts a track record of success, marked by numerous victorious jury trials across various jurisdictions in Texas and New Mexico. Prior to dedicating his career to criminal defense, Gary made history as the youngest prosecutor to lead a Major Crimes Unit in the State of Texas, specializing in Capital Murders and Murders. His educational background includes a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and a Master's in Business Administration from Texas Tech Rawls School of Business. Before pursuing graduate studies, he earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
