Biography

Gary J. Barton is a criminal defense lawyer who has lived in the San Antonio area nearly all his life and takes pride in calling San Antonio his home. Gary is a former Bexar County Felony Assistant District Attorney and uses his extensive knowledge of both sides of the criminal justice system to ensure the best outcome in every case. He has handled every type of criminal case from the most serious Capital Murders down to Possession of Marijuana charges. Gary has won numerous jury trials in a number of jurisdictions throughout Texas and New Mexico. Before focusing on criminal defense, Gary was the youngest prosecutor to head a Major Crimes Unit in the State of Texas where he solely worked on Capital Murders and Murders. Gary is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law and holds a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Texas Tech Rawls School of Business. Before attending graduate school, he obtained a degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
