Geoffrey H. Pforr

Geoffrey H. Pforr is a partner in the firm with over thirty years of trial and appellate experience in the defense of complex matters in both state and federal courts. He received a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1983 and a JD from New York Law School in 1986. He is admitted to the New York State Bar, United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pforr has successfully handled a substantial number of jury trials involving a wide variety of matters including medical malpractice, professional liability, civil rights, construction accidents products, premises liability, and automobile liability. He has also argued a substantial number of appeals in those areas. Presently, he specializes in defense of medical malpractice actions and he has successfully defended physicians, hospitals, and other medical providers, at trial and on appeal. Mr. Pforr has also specialized in defense of both municipalities and police officers in civil rights actions in both state and federal courts. He has served on various committees for the Suffolk County Bar Association including the Supreme Court Committee and the Insurance & Negligence Defense Counsel Committee.
