George is a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the King County Bar Association. His other activities have included membership on the Editorial Board, Duke Law Journal, 1976-1977 and service with the U.S. Army, 1971-1973. George has served on the national board of the University of Missouri Alumni Association and on the board of Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest in Seattle. He is also an active member of University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, and enjoys gardening and skiing.
