Recipient, Purple and Gold Award for Meritorious Scholarship in Russian.

Member of the Immigration Section Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), and served as Chair (2012-2013), Vice Chair (2011-2012), Treasurer (2010-2011), and Secretary (2009-2010) of the Minnesota State Bar Association Immigration Section. Past Chair of the International Business Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and Past Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter. Mr. Maxwell was a Board Member of Green Card Voices from 2016-2020.
