Girum Tesfaye: Attorney with Tesfaye O’Neill Law & Financial

Biography

Girum Tesfaye is the founder of Tesfaye O’Neill Law & Financial and an estate planning attorney whose career spans judicial clerkship, federal regulatory work, and private practice. As a probate law clerk Girum helped draft opinions on matters from modest estates to multimillion-dollar disputes, an experience that underscored the profound effects of court decisions on families. He later refined his research and writing skills at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, then practiced litigation in Northern Virginia before launching his firm to serve families in family law and immigration. A personal encounter with probate after the unexpected loss of a loved one prompted him to focus exclusively on estate planning, driven by a mission to protect clients’ privacy, dignity and assets and to keep families out of court. Girum grew up in Grundy, Virginia and Silver Spring, Maryland, and now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and three children.
