Griffin Rice

Griffin Rice focuses on energy regulatory matters, primarily representing oil and gas companies and utilities before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other federal and state agencies, as well as in related litigation in state and federal courts. His practice encompasses a wide range of issues under the Interstate Commerce Act and the Natural Gas Act—from permitting and ratemaking disputes to regulatory compliance and LNG project development. In addition to his FERC practice, Griffin has experience litigating eminent domain cases and disputes over the sale and purchase of natural gas.

Representative Matters

• Represented utilities and local distribution companies in rate cases involving major interstate natural gas pipelines.°

• Represented oil storage terminal owner in complaint proceedings before FERC and the Louisiana Public Service Commission.°

• Advised owner of natural gas gathering system in the abandonment of offshore facilities in both State and Federal waters.°

• Represented natural gas marketers and utilities in disputes over the pricing and supply of gas during extreme winter weather events.°

• Represented intrastate oil and gas pipelines in eminent domain cases across the state of Texas.°
