Biography

David Cox practices bankruptcy law throughout the Western District of Virginia from his offices in Lynchburg, Danville, Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Winchester. Prior to entering private practice, David served as a judicial law clerk for the late Hon. William E. Anderson. He is the coeditor of Bankruptcy Practice in Virginia, authored the fourth edition of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s book, Consumer Bankruptcy: Fundamentals of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, and has lectured at numerous CLE programs related to bankruptcy across the country. David is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference and a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Most recently in 2017, David was appointed to serve on the General Administration and Estate Committee of the ABI Commission on Consumer Bankruptcy.
