Hallie Goodman Flanagan is experienced in the areas of divorce, family law, health care liability litigation, and estate planning. Ms. Flanagan was admitted to practice in Tennessee in 2019, and she is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Ms. Flanagan was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Following her high school graduation from St. Mary’s Episcopal School, Ms. Flanagan worked on congressional campaigns in Memphis before she went to Washington, D.C. to work as a Legislative Intern for the House of Representatives. Upon returning to Memphis, Ms. Flanagan attended the University of Memphis and in 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2018.
While in law school, Ms. Flanagan received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her top marks in Evidence. Following her first year of study, Ms. Flanagan worked as a Summer Associate with the Legal Department of International Paper before interning with Judge Sheryl Lipman in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Additionally, she served as the Graduate Assistant to Assistant Dean Meredith Aden throughout her law school experience. Ms. Flanagan was a Faculty Emeritus Scholar as well as a Professor W. Walton Garrett Scholar. Ms. Flanagan served as President of the Student Bar Association as well as serving as a member of the Moot Court Board. While serving as President of the Student Bar Association, she authored a column for Memphis Lawyer magazine. Upon Ms. Flanagan’s graduation, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law awarded her the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award.
In addition to her scholastic endeavors, Ms. Flanagan plays an active role in local civic organizations. She was a Pupil Member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court for the 2017-2018 year. Ms. Flanagan has served as General Counsel for the Grand Krewe of Ptolemy, a local non-profit organization affiliated with Carnival Memphis.
