Harvey A. Levine

Harvey A. Levine is the founding partner at Levine & Gilbert. Mr. Levine has spent over 55 years representing the victims of Negligence, Medical Malpractice and False Arrest. During his career Mr. Levine has successfully litigated over a thousand cases, including numerous multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements. Mr. Levine is a passionate litigator who is willing to take the tough, complex cases that other attorneys have rejected and deliver successful outcomes to clients in need of aggressive representation.

In addition to trial work, Mr. Levine has argued appeals at every level of New York State’s judicial system including the New York State Court of Appeals. Included among Mr. Levine’s accomplishments are ground breaking cases that have greatly expanded the parameters under which NYPD and FDNY members can seek damages for line of duty injuries under General Municipal Law 205-e and 205-a and most recently securing one of the first seven figure settlements under new RPAPL provisions creating a private right of action against a foreclosing lender.

Additionally, after honing his trial skills early in his career defending NYPD officers facing criminal prosecution or departmental disciplinary charges, of late Mr. Levine has enjoyed unprecedented success defending New York State Corrections Officers against groundless disciplinary cases. Mr. Levine has held the position of Counsel to Lodge 69 of the New York State Fraternal Order of Police, the largest in the State for over 20 years. He has been singled out as being among the Top 5% of personal injury lawyers in New York State by SuperLawyers and is a proud graduate of Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Law School.
