Heather Melone

At Wellspring, the firm is led by Principal Attorney Heather A. Melone. Heather was raised in Southern California and earned her degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 1997. After graduation, she spent three years in Thailand as a Peace Corps volunteer, working on education and community outreach initiatives. When she returned to San Diego in 2000, she moved into the legal field and joined a leading criminal defense firm as a legal assistant, gradually taking on greater responsibilities. While working full time, Heather earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2005 and passed the California Bar Exam on her first attempt in 2006. Over the next thirteen years, she practiced criminal defense and developed substantial trial advocacy skills. For the past several years, Heather has focused on professional license defense, using her courtroom experience to help clients protect or obtain their licenses when facing disciplinary action from licensing boards. She is known for her strong advocacy, careful preparation, and commitment to helping good people through difficult circumstances.
