HILLARY A. MATOS is an associate attorney at GIFFORD, DEARING & ABERNATHY, LLP, with a practice focused on trust and estate administration, litigation, and estate planning.

Hillary earned her law degree from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she was awarded the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, the Benjamin E. King Scholarship, and the Dorothy L. Weller Scholarship. While at UCLA Law, Hillary interned for the California Attorney General’s Office and the County of Los Angeles. Additionally, Hillary worked as a legal research assistant and served on UCLA Law Review.

Following law school, Hillary worked as a Deputy County Counsel for the County of San Luis Obispo, where she handled a broad range of advisory and transactional legal matters. She advised multiple County departments regarding healthcare and mental health law, privacy compliance, trusts and estates, and contracts. Additionally, she represented the Public Guardian in probate conservatorship and LPS (mental health) conservatorship hearings.

Hillary received her B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Principia College and worked as a science teacher before attending law school.
