Biography

Hon. Victor E. Bianchini (Ret.) is known for his dedication to dispute resolution and extensive experience in mediation. With over two decades in private alternative dispute resolution, Judge Bianchini now contributes his expertise to Signature Resolution’s panel of neutrals. His approach to mediation is characterized by empathy, patience, and a commitment to resolving disputes, utilizing both evaluative and facilitative methods.

Judge Bianchini began his judicial career as a U.S. Commissioner and later served as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of California. He spent 20 years as a state court judge, often serving as the Court’s settlement judge, before retiring from the Superior Court of San Diego in 2002. He then entered private mediation, mediating over 3,500 cases, including complex disputes and multi-million-dollar settlements.

His interest in mediation was sparked by his early success in speech and debate. Initially pursuing political science at San Diego State University, he later joined the Marine Corps, serving as a Colonel after active duty and reserve service. Judge Bianchini has also been a respected law professor, teaching at various institutions and receiving multiple honors for his contributions.
