Biography

A long-time resident of Southern New Jersey, Howard N. Sobel chose a career in law for two inherent reasons - his interest in helping others and his innate competitive spirit that lured him to the challenge of court room litigation. His areas of concentration include litigation, transactional, bankruptcy, collections, personal injury and general practice. Mr. Sobel is a graduate of the Cleveland Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, earning his Juris Doctor in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction in Political Science from Rutgers University Camden in 1976. While an undergraduate student at Rutgers, Howard was awarded an internship with United States Senator Thomas F. Eagleton in Washington, D.C. Mr. Sobel is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, Pennsylvania State Bar, United States District Court for the District of Jersey, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals -Third Circuit and United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association and Camden County Bar Association. Over the years, Mr. Sobel has been a lecturer for local businesses in the subject of credit and collections and has been a previous panelist in local newspaper columns addressing general legal questions. He has been named New Jersey Super Lawyer (General Litigation) each year since 2010 as well as was recognized as Top Attorney (Debt Collection) by SJ Magazine from 2008 to 2010 and Awesome Attorney (Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights) by South Jersey Magazine annually since 2011.
