Hugh Higgins represents clients in construction defect, product liability, casualty, criminal defense and commercial litigation matters.
In his construction defect practice, Hugh defends contractors and subcontractors of consumer and commercial development projects. His casualty defense practice includes defending clients against claims involving premises liability, general negligence and other tort allegations. Hugh handles cases involving fleet transportation, ranging from tractor trailers to delivery vans. In addition, Hugh represents national retail and hospitality clients regarding alleged injuries on property and consumer transactions.
In his product liability practice, Hugh defends manufacturers and distributors of passenger cars and trucks, tires, consumer products, industrial equipment and industrial products.
Hugh has significant experience in the healthcare industry representing executives and medical providers in federal civil and criminal litigation. In particular, he has experience handling matters involving the False Claims Act and other health care fraud statutes. Additionally, Hugh represents clients in a wide range of business disputes.
Prior to joining private practice, Hugh served a two-year term as a law clerk for the Honorable William J. Zloch, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division.
