I. Allan From

Allan’s practice focuses primarily on the areas of Tax, Estate Planning and Corporate Law.

For more than forty years Allan has represented clients of all levels of income and net worth in estate and tax planning matters. This extensive experience paired with his previous work for the Estate and Gift Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service positions him as a valuable resource for his clients.

As leader of the firm’s Estate Planning practice, Allan concentrates primarily in the areas of tax and estate planning, as well as corporate law. Whether assisting clients with matters including planned charitable giving, life insurance planning or providing for children and grandchildren, he is very familiar with all areas of estate planning and administration. Additionally, his representation of many smaller and medium-sized businesses has given him strong insight into the complementary aspects of corporate law and estate planning.

Allan is a member of both the North Carolina and South Carolina State Bars and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, the United States District Court of South Carolina, the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims.

While attending George Washington University as an undergraduate student, Allan was active in a variety of organizations resulting in his election to Omicron Delta Kappa, an honorary fraternity.

He served on the Board of Trustees at George Washington University from 2004-2016 and has recently been named as a Trustee Emeritus of the University. Allan currently serves on the Dean’s Counsel at the University Of South Carolina School of Law.

While attending law school at the University of South Carolina, Allan served on the legal staff of the Internal Revenue Service, Estate and Gift Tax Division. He has also been an active member of his community and previously served as President of the Wake County Jewish Federation and President of the Raleigh Kiwanis Club Foundation. He currently serves on the National Trust for the Humanities in Washington, DC. REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Allan represents many smaller to medium size businesses, giving him a keen understanding of how the aspects of corporate law and estate planning fit together. He also has worked for the Estate and Gift Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service. EDUCATION
