Biography

William Drought is an associate in the litigation department of Oliver Maner LLP. Mr. Drought's areas of practice include personal injury litigation, general litigation, business litigation, and medical malpractice defense.

A native of Savannah, Mr. Drought graduated from Benedictine Military School before attending the University of Georgia. Mr. Drought graduated summa cum laude from the Terry College of Business in 2012 with a degree in Business Management.

Mr. Drought earned his Juris Doctor at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, graduating summa cum laude in the class of 2015. While at Mercer Law School, Mr. Drought was a member of the 2013-15 Mercer Law Review and served as Managing Editor. Mr. Drought also served on Mercer's Student Bar Association's Alumni and Bar Committee board and is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During his third year of law school, Mr. Drought interned in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia for the Honorable Marc T. Treadwell and in the Bibb County Superior Court for the Honorable Edgar W. Ennis, Jr.

Mr. Drought has been named a Georgia Rising Star in 2020 and 2021. The Rising Star program seeks to identify the top 2.5% of up-and-coming lawyers in Georgia who are under 40. Mr. Drought was also named in The Best Lawyers in America’s first edition of the Best of the Best: Lawyers to Watch. Mr. Drought is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Savannah.

Mr. Drought is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association, and the Savannah Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division. He serves on the Board of the MedBank Foundation, a local non-profit that provides access to medications for patient who, for a variety of socioeconomic reasons, could not otherwise obtain their medications.
