Ian De Verna

Ian De Verna, a native of Gig Harbor, Washington, and an alumnus of Gig Harbor High School, has carved his path in the legal realm with a commitment to justice and a passion for litigation. Graduating from Gonzaga University with his undergraduate degree, Ian remains an ardent Gonzaga basketball fan. His legal journey took him to St. Louis University School of Law, where he interned for two years with the St. Clair County State's Attorney’s Office in Illinois as a Rule 711 Intern. In this role, he prosecuted a spectrum of felony cases, from drug distribution to aggravated assault, conducting grand jury proceedings and managing numerous bench trials. His active engagement in the law school's legal clinic exposed him to federal court and various Missouri courts.

Admitted to practice in Washington State since 2015, Ian has garnered extensive litigation experience, representing a diverse clientele. His professional journey includes serving as the public defender for the City of Bremerton and defending major insurance companies such as Allstate, Esurance, and Encompass. With a statewide footprint, Ian has litigated criminal and civil cases, including personal injury claims involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal and neck fractures, knee injuries, PTSD, and soft tissue injuries. Certified in mediation and collaborative law, Ian takes pride in his prowess in alternative dispute resolution.

Currently, Ian's focus is singularly dedicated to representing the injured. Empathizing with the challenges of recovery, he draws personal inspiration from his mother's experience—a serious motor vehicle accident leading to neck surgery and substantial medical treatment costs. Ian intimately understands the disruptive impact of injuries on one's life and the ensuing emotional turmoil. Armed with this insight, he navigates the legal landscape with a deep commitment to seeking justice for his injured clients, comprehending the intricacies of how insurance companies think and operate.
