Biography

Ian Gillan serves as a partner in WSHB's Orlando and Miami offices, where he handles complex litigation in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on the representation of developers and general contractors in construction litigation and the defense of complex general liability and insurance matters.

Ian is an experienced litigator with over two decades dedicated to navigating insureds and insurers through the defense of difficult claims. He is committed to developing and executing efficient and innovative strategies for resolving cases while zealously defending the interests of his clients. His deep understanding of both the business and legal aspects of the insurance industry provides an exceptional foundation for the provision of guidance on issues of risk evaluation and insurance coverage.

Originally from Cumberland, Rhode Island, Ian graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Rhode Island College and obtained his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. During his time in law school, he held the position of Executive Board Editor of the Moot Court Honors Society and participated in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Ian was recognized with awards for Outstanding Legal Scholarship, Excellence in Oral Advocacy, and Service to the Law School during his studies at Quinnipiac University School of Law.
