Igor M. Murta

Igor Murta is an Associate at Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP, where he defends hospitals, medical professionals, and health care systems in a variety of medical malpractice matters and medical disciplinary matters.

Before joining MCB, Igor was a senior compliance associate attorney at a business- to-business market research company located in New York. His responsibilities included reviewing service for compliance contracts with company policy; identifying and correcting contract defects and potential issues; drafting and revising compliance guidelines for use by corporate personnel; and analyzing data from proprietary surveys for quality concerns as well as Material Non-Public Information exposure.

Prior to that role, Igor honed his litigation skills as an associate at a small law firm, where he handled cases from inception to resolution, arguing motions in court, conducting and defending depositions, and managing all phases of discovery. His work also involved drafting a wide range of legal documents, including complaints, memoranda, and subpoenas.

Earlier still, Igor served as an associate attorney for a midsize law firm specializing in educational law and related areas. Responsibilities included researching legal issues concerning education law and regulations; preparing memoranda of agreement for school districts; drafting and reviewing various legal motions, including verified answers and bills of particulars; and preparing for and attending negotiations between school districts and various unions.

Igor received his B.A. summa cum laude from Stony Brook University in 2015. He earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2020. He is admitted to practice in New York.
