Ilana Korchia

Open for Business
Ilana Korchia: Attorney with Marler Clark, Inc., P.S.

Biography

Ilana joined Marler Clark in 2019 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Food Science from the University of Florida. She continued working at the firm while attending Seattle University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2022. During law school, she served as president of the Food Law Society, won Seattle University’s in-house negotiation competition, and received awards for the highest grade in Civil Procedure, Legal Writing, and Negotiations.

At Marler Clark, Ilana’s practice encompasses all facets of litigation, including case development, discovery, motion practice, and advocacy in matters involving complex legal and scientific issues. In 2019, she drafted a 61-page petition to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) requesting that 31 outbreak-related serotypes of Salmonella be classified as adulterants in meat and poultry—an effort that contributed to broader legislative and regulatory discussions. She also brings prior experience from her work in public affairs with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Beyond her litigation practice, Ilana authors The Litigated Dish column for Food Safety News, serves as a Bar Examiner for the Washington State Bar Association, and regularly judges negotiation and advocacy competitions at Seattle University School of Law. Originally from the South of France, she is fluent in French and assists the firm in matters involving French-speaking attorneys and clients abroad. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
