J. Robert Russell

J. Robert Russell joined Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer, PLLC in 2008 as Counsel and focuses his practice entirely on litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. He has over 14 years of experience defending municipalities and governmental entities, private corporations and individuals in employment discrimination, civil rights, land use and zoning regulation, professional negligence and medical malpractice litigation. He has tried numerous cases to verdict, including defense of a university and faculty member in an employment discrimination and civil rights claim in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, later defending the verdict on appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has frequently appeared before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
