Biography

Property Law and Communications. Mr. Vander Stoep specializes in helping clients with their strategic, and communications goals. He has worked with dozens of public agencies, public figures, and businesses as a communications consultant and strategist. Clients have included Microsoft, the Russell Company, Trident Seafoods, Aspen Valley Hospital, and Washington Realtors.

Mr. Vander Stoep has over three decades of experience in public policy and communications. At twenty-three he won election to the Washington State House of Representatives where he served for six years. In Washington D.C. he served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator Slade Gorton.

J. is a founding partner of Sound Counsel. J. is intimately involved with helping clients prepare for and respond to events requiring a crisis communications response.

Real Property. Mr. Vander Stoep’s traditional legal work primarily involves matters related to real property. He has successfully litigated many boundary and timber trespass matters and also assists clients with local governmental zoning and land use related issues.

Order of Barristers. Washington State Representative, 1981-1987. Chief of Staff to United States Senator Slade Gorton, 1990-1993.
