Jack is ardent in his pursuit of the best possible resolution on behalf of his clients in the fields of municipal law, medical malpractice and professional liability. With over a decade of experience in the practice of law, Jack employs a client-centric approach to minimize risk before litigation arises. However, should litigation prove inevitable, Jack is experienced in representing his clients before various administrative agencies, state and federal courts, and professional administrative and licensing boards.
Defense of Municipalities and Employers
Jack has extensive experience in representing municipalities and local school boards in a variety of matters, including police and governmental liability, sewer and stormwater suits, prisoner suits, land use and development issues, civil rights actions, premises liability and impact fee challenges. He has also represented both private and public-sector employers against claims of wrongful termination, retaliation and alleged violations of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and REDA both before administrative agencies - such as the EEOC and the NCDOL - as well as in federal court. Jack has worked with a number of municipalities across the state, and assists municipal officials, council members and their local counsel through the process of either resolving or litigating claims as the need arises.
Defense of Healthcare Providers and Professionals
Jack also defends licensed medical practitioners and healthcare providers against claims of professional negligence and malpractice made by former patients. Since he began practicing law, Jack has represented a variety of hospitals, physicians and practices, therapists, nurses, dentists, nursing homes and long-term care facilities in both state and federal court. He also represents healthcare professionals in licensing and credentialing matters before the Medical Board of North Carolina. Jack also defends a variety of other licensed professionals (such as appraisers, home inspectors, attorneys, and real estate agents/brokers) against claims of both professional negligence and malpractice in both state and federal court as well as before professional licensing and/or administrative boards.
