Drawing from her roots in Emmett, Idaho, Jackie Gans brings a unique blend of commitment, resilience, and warmth to the table as a commercial litigator at Elam & Burke.
In 2014, she found her professional home at Elam & Burke, where she thrived and earned her place as a shareholder and member of the firm’s Executive Board. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated exceptional written work product and oral advocacy, achieving successful outcomes for her clients in state and federal district courts in Idaho.
Her passion for the people she serves extends to both litigation and counseling, where she assists employers who are responding to complaints, drafting employee handbooks, or navigating complex personnel issues. In addition to her litigation practice, she frequently reviews construction and real estate contracts, guiding contractors, businesses, and individuals with strategic foresight.
Her career was significantly shaped by the powerful influence of her mother, an elementary school teacher, and her grandmother, both of whom exemplified the virtue of tireless work ethic while nurturing their families. These strong matriarchal figures instilled in her an unwavering commitment to her clients' advocacy.
Jackie's journey began on the soccer fields of Boise where she juggled her athletic and musical pursuits, culminating in a soccer scholarship to California State University, Fullerton. On the Division I women's soccer team, she displayed her formidable determination and work ethic, principles that would later guide her in the realm of law. After a season of semi-pro soccer, and a communications degree in hand, she found herself drawn toward the law.
No stranger to challenge, Jackie dove into law school at the University of Idaho where her tireless grit and dedication led her to clerk for the Honorable Jim Jones of the Idaho Supreme Court and later for the Honorable B. Lynn Winmill, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Idaho.
Jackie’s personal narrative is interwoven with resilience, determination, and a deep-seated sense of community inherited from her Basque heritage. As a descendant of hard-working women, she values transparency, thoroughness, and aggressive advocacy. She's described by her clients as 'no-nonsense' and 'very thorough', qualities that she prides herself on.
