Jacob A. "Jake" Boyd: Attorney with Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz PLLC

Biography

After years devoted to litigation, Jake Boyd now focuses his legal practice almost exclusively on transactional matters, advising clients through all phases of their business life cycle. His work includes general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance, and a broad range of business transactions. Jake serves as trusted counsel to business owners navigating the complexities of building and scaling their companies-from initial formation through strategic growth planning and eventual sale or disposition.

Jake also has experience with securities work related to private offerings and private equity investment transactions, helping business owners raise capital to fuel growth and expansion. He is actively seeking opportunities to expand both of these areas of his practice.

What makes Jake unique as a transactional attorney is his extensive litigation background, which provides him with invaluable insight when drafting transactional documents with the goal of preventing future disputes and minimizing litigation risk for his clients. This litigation experience allows him to anticipate potential issues and disputes before they arise and structure deals more effectively to protect his clients’ interests.

Jake is dedicated to providing thorough and practical counsel tailored to each client’s specific objectives. He understands the challenges facing business owners and works collaboratively with clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including construction, insurance agencies, and manufacturing. While Jake’s practice now predominantly centers on transactional work, Jake continues to counsel clients in pre-litigation matters and engages in all aspects of pre-litigation dispute resolution for both individual and business clients.
