Jacob Alzamora

Jacob Alzamora is a dedicated divorce and family law attorney with extensive trial experience and a practice that covers custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, and the division of marital property and debts through equitable distribution. He is deliberate about choosing the right path for each client, working toward efficient, fair settlements when that approach serves the client’s interests and taking a case to court when litigation is the better option. Jacob grew up in Florida and earned a political science degree cum laude from the University of Florida. He later completed his legal education at Boston University School of Law, where he was named an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar, and then built his career in Northern Virginia. In 2011, Jacob and his partner Nick established Solan Alzamora to provide high-quality representation without sacrificing the personal connection and responsiveness clients value. Jacob is a proud Ecuadorian-American and speaks Spanish fluently, allowing him to better support clients who may be dealing with the U.S. legal system for the first time. He lives in Alexandria with his wife and enjoys fishing, gardening, and cooking outside of work, while also following the Washington Nationals and cheering on the Florida Gators. Jacob teaches as an adjunct professor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law, participates in several bar organizations, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2017–2021), Top 10 Under 40 in Virginia (2017–2020), and a Virginia Business Legal Elite honoree (2018).
