James Cai

As the founder of SAC Attorneys LLP, James Cai brings experience from both major law firms and the in-house world, including his time as legal counsel for Yahoo! Inc. His practice focuses on corporate law, intellectual property, immigration, and estate planning, helping clients move forward with clarity and confidence. Mr. Cai approaches representation through “relationship lawyering,” emphasizing responsive communication, careful research, and strong advocacy—whether handling a transaction or litigating a dispute. Because of this client-first approach, he works with many repeat and long-standing clients, ranging from individuals and small businesses to nonprofits and public companies. His experience includes successfully representing well-known organizations such as Intel, Nokia Venture, HiSense, Webex, Yulong Group, San Jose State University, and Ballet San Jose. Before starting SAC Attorneys LLP, he practiced at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP (now DLA Piper). He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, graduating in the top 5% of his class. Mr. Cai is a member of Premier Lawyers of America and was recognized in 2019 by the Association of American Trial Lawyers for excellence in business law. He is admitted in California, the Northern District of California, the Ninth Circuit, and before the USPTO.
