Biography

James Catalano is a Tampa native working in Morgan & Morgan’s Premises Liability department. James obtained his Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a Minor in Psychology at the University of Central Florida. After college, James attended the Florida International University College of Law where he obtained his J.D. while serving as a litigator in the University’s Investor Advocacy Clinic, representing people that had been victimized by investment firms and brokers.

After law school, James returned to Tampa, where he represented major banks, like Bank of America, N.A., statewide in foreclosure actions, and eventually, began a career at the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office, protecting people’s rights. During his tenure at the Public Defender’s Office he represented cases from every stage, and tried over sixty jury and non-jury trials, including first-degree and punishable-by-life felonies.

James joined Morgan & Morgan so that he could put his extensive litigation and trial skills to work for the people and pursue his passion for protecting people’s rights.
