James J. Cerbone

James "Jim" Cerbone has practiced law in New Jersey for more than 25 years. He focuses his work on helping people and families through financially stressful situations, including bankruptcy, debt relief, foreclosure defense, tax relief, real estate matters, and estate planning. Jim earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and later completed an advanced Master of Laws at Temple University. A New Jersey native, he was born in Montclair and raised in Englishtown, and he has built his practice around serving the same communities he calls home. In 2001, Jim became Board Certified in Bankruptcy Law, reflecting a deep commitment to this area of practice. Over the course of his career, he has helped well over 5,000 clients deal with debt, lawsuits, and other financial challenges. Clients often say they feel comfortable talking with him, without judgment or pressure. Jim’s guiding belief is simple, this is his community too and he works to help people find a clear way forward.
