Biography

James J. Gascon is a Partner at Costello, Cooney & Fearon. He started his career at the Firm in 1986.

Jim has built the focus of his practice on providing general counsel to corporate organizations, brands, and not-for-profit organizations, active civil litigation – including personal injury plaintiff and defense work, insurance coverage interpretation and litigation, and court-appointed receiverships. He has built a substantial practice in the area of fire loss litigation, and has received Level One Fire Origin and Cause Determination training from the State of New York.

Jim also possesses a great deal of experience in providing representation to municipalities, representing town boards, planning boards, zoning boards, and serving as the Attorney for the Town of Marcellus and the Town of Spafford.

Jim also serves as Costello, Cooney & Fearon’s Litigation practice group chair.

    Jim is not timely in his comunnications with fellow attorneys. He can be diffcult to reach, even via email. He also has a bad habit of speaking before thinking @ a deposition or during the argument of a motion. His written product leaves quite a bit... Read more
