James Rees: Attorney with Whitelaw-Twining

Biography

James joined our team as an associate in 2016 after completing his articles at an insurance defence firm in Vancouver. A versatile lawyer, he is experienced in many areas under the insurance litigation umbrella including construction and personal injury. His current practice revolves around subrogation, personal injury, professional liability and property damage on both the plaintiff and defence sides. He has appeared on behalf of clients in matters before the Provincial and Supreme Court of British Columbia.

James takes a hands-on approach with each of his clients and goes to great lengths to alleviate their concerns and make them feel confident about their cases. He is a clear, effective communicator and a practical thinker—two qualities that allow him to quickly resolve his clients’ files.

Outside of the office, James enjoys sports, playing basketball, soccer, golf, softball and rugby, as well as coaching basketball. James is an avid music lover and concert goer, and loves exploring the great outdoors of Vancouver.
