Biography

Jamie Williams is personal injury and construction defect litigation attorney in our Columbia, SC office. Jamie was born and raised in Columbia. He graduated from Dreher High School, Presbyterian College, and the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, Jamie was on the Dean’s List every semester and was inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe.

Jamie brings a different perspective in the representation of his clients having worked in the South Carolina legal community for over 17 years in various roles ranging from file clerk to partner of a defense firm. He began his career as an attorney representing large financial institutions in the court room and eventually began defending individuals and businesses through their insurance companies in construction defect and personal injury litigation. These experiences provided him with invaluable knowledge on how insurance companies handle and value claims and lawsuits. Before joining Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, Jamie was a partner at a well-respected defense firm where he defended businesses involved in high value multi-party litigation cases. He left his partnership to bring his courtroom experience to the plaintiffs’ side so he could zealously advocate for those that do not have the backing of large insurance companies.

Outside of work, Jamie spends all the time he can with his wife, Meredith, and two young boys, Hayes and Monte. He loves coaching and cheering for his boys’ sports teams. The family also enjoys Gamecock sports. They frequently attend Carolina football, baseball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball games.
