Biography

Janaye Godfrey is a passionate personal injury attorney at Morgan & Morgan’s Nashville office, specializing in premises liability. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Janaye relocated to Nashville to pursue her law career after a successful academic and athletic journey. She played lacrosse at Illinois Wesleyan University, earning Academic All-American honors in 2021, before attending Belmont University College of Law. While at Belmont, she contributed to the Entertainment Law Journal and was published in 2024 with her article, *The Mental Health Crisis Among NCAA Student-Athletes: Will the NCAA Finally Step Up?*

Janaye first joined Morgan & Morgan as part of their inaugural summer associate class in Nashville in 2023 and accepted a return offer to become a pre-suit attorney. She is now a proud member of the Tennessee Bar and continues her work advocating for those in need. Outside the office, Janaye enjoys supporting the Nashville Predators and hiking Tennessee’s scenic trails, bringing her love for the outdoors and her new city into her personal life.
