Biography

Janet A. George has been practicing family law since 1975. She has a BA from Stanford and a Masters in psychiatric nursing from UW. Prior to law school, she was an assistant professor at the UW School of Nursing. Janet is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, designated as a “Super Lawyer,” and listed in “Top 50 Washington Women Lawyers” and “Best Lawyers in America.” She was named by the King County Superior Court judges as one of the 20 outstanding lawyers in King County. She has also been an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law. Janet has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1992, serving as President of the Washington AAML chapter from 1997 to 1999. On January 30, 2017, Janet merged her solo family law practice with McKinley Irvin.
