Biography

Jay M. Smith is a partner with the firm. Jay has a general practice including but not limited to Labor Law, Employment Law, Employee Benefits, and Workers' Compensation. Jay joined the firm in 2004 following his work with the political group America Coming Together. Jay graduated in 2004 from the University of Iowa, College of Law. Jay is admitted to practice in the state courts of Iowa and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.

During his tenure with the firm, Jay has served on the Board of Directors for the Siouxland Foodbank, the Executive Board of the Twenty-First Century Forum, and the Advisory Council of the Iowa Legal Aid Health and Law Project. Jay is a current member of the American Federation of Teachers, the Iowa Bar Association, the Woodbury County Bar Association, the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association of Justice.

Jay has presented to several groups concerning labor and employment topics during his tenure, including the University of Iowa, Labor Center.
