Biography

Mr. Quartararo is a tax attorney and manages the firm’s tax, trusts, estate planning and estates practice. His practice emphasizes taxation, estate planning and administration, pension and retirement planning, business succession planning, and elder law and long-term care planning. His Masters of Law in Taxation enables him to effectively counsel individuals, businesses, estates and charitable organizations on the implementation of various income and estate tax saving strategies.

Mr. Quartararo has prepared numerous comprehensive wills, trusts and estate plans for clients of significant and modest means in order to minimum estate taxes, effectively manage assets and provide for the orderly succession of property, including closely held and family businesses. Mr. Quartararo administers estates and trusts in Surrogates Court and has represented taxpayers in connection with Internal Revenue Service audits. In addition, he has negotiated and structured various business transactions, and has prepared various pension and deferred compensation plans. He has acted as tax counsel to trust and estate departments of banks and other financial institutions. Mr. Quartararo frequently lectures in his area of practice.

Mr. Quartararo holds a B.S. Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College (Cum Laude, 1990), a J.D. Degree from Gonzaga University School of Law (Magna Cum Laude, 1993) and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law (1995). While at law school, he served as an Editor of the Law Review and was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award. He is also a member of the Suffolk County Estate Planning Counsel.
