Biography

Jeff Dunbar is a highly experienced legal professional who has made significant contributions to the field of litigation. With 14 years of dedicated service, Jeff has been a prominent Member and, notably, the former Chair of the firm's Litigation practice group.

Throughout his illustrious career, Jeff has skillfully handled a diverse range of civil litigation cases, spanning from the defense of municipalities and charitable organizations to individuals and various public and private entities. His litigation approach is characterized by a focus on risk assessment and early case investigation and evaluation.

Jeff's strategic philosophy is evident in his approach to cases. He is known for vigorously defending against meritless claims right from the start, employing expedited discovery techniques to enhance the potential for early resolutions through dispositive motions. Conversely, when dealing with meritorious cases, Jeff efficiently pursues resolutions through mediation, arbitration, or other alternative dispute resolution methods.

Jeff's track record includes notable achievements such as securing summary judgment dismissals in a wide array of cases at the trial court level, successfully defending numerous appellate matters, and handling intricate cases involving alleged wrongful termination, employment discrimination, and high-profile construction accidents resulting in catastrophic injuries. Additionally, he has effectively managed significant environmental cleanup claims and achieved favorable outcomes in numerous asbestos exposure and premises liability cases, along with a diverse range of tort claims resolved through various legal mechanisms.

Jeff is admitted to practice in the State of Washington and the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has presented compelling arguments in various courts, including Divisions I and II of the Washington Court of Appeals, the Washington State Supreme Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Beyond his home state, Jeff has litigated cases across multiple states, including Oregon, California, Utah, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Jeff's academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Washington in 1992 and a Juris Doctorate, earned magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 1996.

In addition to his impressive legal career, Jeff maintains active memberships in esteemed professional associations, including the King County Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the Washington State Association of Justice, and DRI (Asbestos/Asbestos Medicine). These affiliations reflect his commitment to staying engaged and informed within the legal community.
