Biography

Jeff joined the firm in 2009 after spending seven years as a litigation associate at Vedder Price, P.C. Jeff was made a partner in 2013.

Jeff works with individuals and businesses to protect their rights and resolve all manner of disputes, whether through litigation, arbitration, mediation or negotiation, in addition to counseling clients on pre-litigation disputes and ways to minimize litigation risk.

Jeff has experience handling all phases of litigation, from emergency injunctions through trial and appeal, in a broad range of commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, the American Arbitration Association and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Jeff has considerable experience in banking and lending disputes and litigating trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and restrictive covenant claims. Jeff has worked on a range of directors and officer matters, both in the context of defending directors and officers from shareholder derivative suits and in the context of defending former officers and directors of failed banks from suits brought or threatened by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Jeff also has considerable experience representing private offshore insurers and related professionals in actions alleging investment fraud associated with offshore asset protection trusts and related investments.

Jeff also counsels clients in connection with the retention and management of electronic and hard copy data and records and electronic discovery issues.

Jeff is a member of the Trial Bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and was selected in 2011 and 2012 as one of Illinois’ “Rising Stars” for civil litigation defense based on a peer survey conducted by Super Lawyers publication (representing top 2.5% of all Illinois lawyers 40 and under). Jeff has been selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers for Civil Litigation in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

In addition to his activities on behalf of the firm and its clients, Jeff volunteers his time to the Glencoe Cub Scout Pack 28 and the Glencoe Baseball Association. Jeff is an alumnus of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Council for Youth Services, and served as its President.
