Jek Aun Long has focused on investment funds and regulatory work since 1998, and leads a team of dedicated funds lawyers, based in Singapore, known for their versatility, creativity, responsiveness and commercial acumen.
He currently serves as a member of the executive committee of the Monetary Authority of Singapore-Singapore Funds Industry Group (SFIG ExCo), which works to strengthen Singapore’s position as a global asset management and fund domiciliation hub.
Jek Aun works on private and public/retail funds as well as listed funds, including private equity/venture capital, real estate/infrastructure, digital assets, private credit, hedge funds, mutual funds and ETFs. He advises on structuring, establishment, registration and marketing of onshore and offshore funds whether involving closed-end or open-ended investment vehicles.
He also provides guidance on licensing, regulatory and securities laws issues, and counsels corporate and institutional clients, university endowments, tertiary institutions and sovereign wealth funds in connection with their investments in funds. Over the course of his career in private practice, Jek Aun has assisted many of the most prominent names in the global fund management industry establish their regulated operations in Singapore.
As part of the depth and breadth of his and his team’s funds and regulatory experience, Jek Aun has launched private and public/retail tokenized funds and worked with global asset managers tokenizing the Singapore VCC as part of Project Guardian, the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s collaborative initiative with the financial industry testing asset tokenization and DeFi applications.
